Are all optometrists the same?

No, they are human.

The difference between Optometrists is measured not so much on their technical abilities but the Culture of the practice they work in, and the Vision that they have for your eyecare.

We excel at meeting our patients needs because we understand Kiwi's.

Some common questions are;

What does it cost?

We are highly skilled Professionals, with no hidden Government subsidies. We spend the time with you and charge Fees, based partly on time, partly on complexity of task we perform.

This is a very different situation to seeing your GP, who is heavily subsidised from your taxes, and then charges you fees on top of that as well.

Some optometrists fall into the trap of discounting Fees, but you know that can't work – they will have to either rush you through, or insist on a spectacle purchase to cover their costs.

We think it better to discount frames & lenses than Professional Standards, and we hope you agree.

Does it hurt?

Generally no, just some bright lights. For some people we do have to use eye drops, and they can sting for a minute or two.

Why does it take so much longer to have my eyes tested at Shattky's?

Kiwi's know instinctively that "Good things take time"
